Located on 25 acres of landscaped gardens just 9kms west of Coonabarabran, the Warrumbungles Mountain Motel is nestled in a picturesque, quiet & peaceful valley, bounded on 3 sides by the Castlereagh river. 

The closest motel and camping grounds to the Warrumbungle National Park and the internationally recognised Warrumbungle Dark Sky Park the Warrumbungles Mountain Motel (WMM) boasts brilliant night skies right outside your unit rooms.

We are a licensed venue and provide 2 main function areas including the Warrumbungle Function Centre and the Brigalow Room suitable for specials events such as Weddings, birthdays, conferences, workshops and retreats.


The WMM is Pet friendly. Please let us know prior if you wish to bring your pet as only selected rooms are pet friendly.

Enjoy your stay in either one of our standard Motel 
Rooms, our 3 bedroom Unit or the Self Contained Motel rooms with full cooking facilities. 

Our campground is suitable for self contained caravans, camper trailers and tents. Limited amenities and power.

Our camp ground allows for 18 sites spread over 25 acres of landscaped grounds under awesome dark skies.

With 2 function areas we are able to cater for your every need from weddings, birthdays and reunions to conferences, workshops and retreats.

Catering is available to all function areas and we are are licensed premises.



Breakfast, Packed Lunches & Dining


We provide a choice of breakfasts delivered to your room. 

Packed Lunches are available for bush walks, picnics etc

Seasonal menu available to your room for evening meals.

Rooms have self catering facilities.

Free Wifi


We offer free wifi, however not all rooms connect to this service reliably. It's a chance to really tune out and relax or let us know if connection is vital to your stay, so we put you in a room with the stronger connection.



We have 25 acres of landscaped gardens and lawns. A mix of native and exotic plants and even a little veggie patch.

Our team take pride in the cleanliness of  your rooms.



Our Salt Water pool is a great place to cool off when the weather heats up. We are working on some fun additions to the pool as well as adding some warmth to extend the ' dipping' season.

The WMM is situated under the most amazing dark sky... Just step out of your room and look up! 

We are a sought after destination by astrophotographers and star gazers. Astronomy  experts and venues close by.

Birds Safari


Our guests have spotted over 70 species at the WMMotel and we've created for our guests a bird spotting checklist. You can also tap into bird routes and great info from our nearby Warrumbungle NP and Pilliga Discovery Centre.

Bush Walking & Outdoors


The WMMotel is the closest motel to the Warrumbungle National Park - perfect for bushwalking and a variety of adventurous activities. But not the only location in the region.
